CHARGING

QuietOn earplugs are ready to use and charged for 50 hours use. After use, clean the tips as indicated below and place them back inside the charging case.

1. Place right and left earplugs correctly in the R and L marked slots inside the box

2. Close the lid carefully.

3. Connect the micro-USB cable (delivered in the dental package) into the connecting plug integrated in the charging case. Add your standard adapter (providing 5V and 0.12-3A). The charging is indicated by blue lights on the front of the case.

4. Charging is complete when the lights turn off. Maximum duration of the charging is 1 hour. One single charge can last for 50h.

It is recommended to test QuietOn functionality after charging by covering the earplug hole with your finger. A faint beep indicates the device is working correctly. If you hear this beep while wearing, adjust the position of the device on your ears.

QuietOn earplugs do not function when the battery is empty. The battery will self-discard gradually like any battery. Please do check it every once in a while and recharge at least once every 4 months. The integrated battery is a non-replaceable lithium-ion battery.

CHANGING AND CHOOSING THE TIPS

There are two pairs of silicon tips coming along with the earplugs and the foam tips are already attached to the earpieces. Change tips by pulling them off and pushing new ones firmly against the earplugs. Avoid touching the delicate mesh and earplugs inner components.

The eartip sizes are the following:

  • Medium black foam tip: 12,5 mm
  • Medium blue silicone tip: 13,3 mm
  • Small green silicone tip: 12,1 mm

Ensure that the chosen tip is small enough to penetrate the ear canal and provide a secure fit, but is also large enough that at least two flanges of silicone tips seal the ear canal. In the case of foam tip, ensure that it seals the ear canal completely.

If the medium size does not provide a proper fit, proceed with the small or large size eartips as these were designed to fit users for whom the medium size is not suitable. Do not use product if the proper size and fit cannot be obtained. Only use compatible QuietOn eartips delivered in the dental package.

Cleaning and maintenance instructions

QuietOn earplugs will last very long time when you keep your ears clean and respect the cleaning and maintenance instructions of the earplugs.
Earplugs are NOT waterproof. The plastic body of the earplug can be gently cleaned with dry or damp cloth.

Cleaning the charging case

When cleaning the exterior surfaces, use dry or damp cloth. Be careful with the USB port. The interior of the charging case should be kept from dust and debris. In case you need to clean the interior of the charging case, remember to use only dry cotton sticks. Be careful with charging contacts, do not bend those.

Cleaning the tips

Clean the tips regularly to avoid any dirt or ear wax attaching on them. The cumulating dirt may cause functionality problems over time. First indication of this is a constant beeping sound. It can be an indication that there is some dirt or ear wax on the mesh, blocking the correct operation of the earplug.

Remove the tips from the earplug by pulling them off gently.

The silicone tips can be washed with mild soap or detergent and water. They are also autoclavable e.g. 4 min under 134 degrees.

The foam tips can be cleaned only by wiping with a soft damp cloth or dry tissue. Avoid any water or detergent contact because the foam absorbs the moisture and this may result malfunction of the earplug.

CLEANING THE MESH

When cleaning the delicate mesh, please follow carefully the instructions below. The mesh is connected to the delicate earplug audio canal and any removal or misplacement of the mesh will result malfunction of the earplug. The best way to keep the earplugs functional is to keep your ears clean.
Please do not use soap, alcohol or any detergent to clean the mesh. Hard objects like toothpick will damage this little buddy as well. Be gentle with it.

1. For cleaning the mesh, you need 5 cotton sticks, warm water and dry paper towel.

2. Dip the cotton stick gently in warm water, but not too much.

3. Wipe mesh with cotton sticks, avoid pushing too much. Keep the audio canal down to minimize water going through mesh.

4. Dry the mesh with a dry paper towel. Repeat wiping and drying process for 5 times until there is no more wax on the mesh.

Retention cord is included in the QuietOn dental package. This cord may be useful while working long shifts in dental clinics. A retention cord with a clip is available as an accessory.
If you wish to use this optional retention cord, simply place the ends of the cord onto the earplugs, as shown below:
